    Description

A TURTLE  -  by Joe Obed, Inuit sculptor  -  is a classically simple Inuit/Eskimo carving.  This turtle is carved of white which has many lines/inclusions of light & darker gray.  All lines in this piece are "marbling" darker stone inclusions, not cracks.  These add interest to the whiter stone of rest of work.
The turtle is 4" long, 2.75" across at widest and 1.75" high.
Joe Obed is an Inuit and has written a bit about himself.... he is from "
Hopedale Labrador. Born and raised there. Been carving since 1999. I work with stone and antler. It's all hand carved and original work. I have work ranging from animals to drum-dancers. Sold my work around the world." He says he has sold overseas work mostly in Germany, Japan and England among other countries
